The Journal of Social Research (STJ) was established in 2019 by the Center for Social Research. On August 6, 2019, it was included in the register of printed publications under the number 4248 in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In March 2021, the International Serial Publications Registration Center, headquartered in Paris, France, assigned the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN 2788-8789)  to the journal Social Research.

The journal prefers to publish scientific-analytical articles, discussion opinions and comments on new publications, reflecting the new ideas and approaches of the authors, expressing the general conceptual issues of social and humanitarian sciences, such as sociology, psychology, economics, politics, law and philosophy.

It is an independent, peer-reviewed, scientific publication. 4 issues are published during the year.

Copies of the journal are sent to libraries, international index organizations, subscribers and authors within one month of publication.

Articles are published in Azerbaijani, Turkish, English and Russian
